Hello my friends!
It has been quite some time since the last message left the Island, and for that I apologize. We've been busy building a lot of fun stuff here!
Over the past few months I have completely re-animated our little Bran, completed the first dungeon, overhauled the UI and menus, added controller support, added enemy telegraphs, added additional enemy types... and probably more stuff that I can't remember!

So, Piko and I were successfully funded through Kickstarter! Weeee!! Thank you so much to all the backers who made that possible!
As a thank you, I am going to be sending out a VERY EARLY alpha demo so our backers can get a taste of The Ovate Order, and see how things are/will be changing during development. The demo will be sent out October 5th. Until then you know I'll be crushing bugs and trying to make things smooth for my unsuspecting testers. :D

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. Life has gotten crazy these past few months. Luckily The Ovate Order is becoming better and better each day! :D

So, if you couldn't tell from the picture... I'm on KICKSTARTER! If you're interested in helping me bring The Ovate Order to your pretty faces on time I would greatly appreciate it! I'm really hoping this will give me the opportunity to get some good feedback on what you guys think as well.

Well folks, it's over. GDC 2017 has come and gone, and what an experience it was. There will be a more in depth post in the coming days regarding my thoughts on the matter, as well as what it could mean for the future of Piko Island.

In the mean time, I have some flights to catch. So... I'll be seeing you weirdos later!

Thank you for meeting me here. I'm sure you're wondering what this is all about. Well, let me tell you...

Piko has sent me back to school so I can improve my brain skills. If I had to guess I would say I have gained 2 intelligence points so far. It will be some time before I can summon Exodia, that's for sure.

I've been doing some drawing recently, as you can see with the picture above. I've been trying to work on my digital painting skills. I have to give props to Draw With Jazza on YouTube for the videos, they have definitely helped me out a bunch. I've been thinking about picking up a new tablet; I'm thinking the Wacom Intuos Pro Medium.

Anywhoooo, I've been making some pretty good progress with The Ovate Order. Two new enemy types and a couple new NPCs down, only a hundred left! :D

Check back for some cool news. Or maybe you won't have to, because it will probably be on Twitter and Facebook first.

Happy New Year! Uhh, what? Am I late or something?

The past couple of months have been wild on the island. Piko seems to be losing his mind. I found him talking to a fish that washed up on the shore the other day. He's been calling it Jabu... I think they're friends now. I don't have the heart to tell him Jabu is dead. Maybe it's better this way.

In other news, if you hadn't guessed already by the new pic... Piko Island is coming to San Francisco! Yup, we're catching a ride with good 'ol Nimbus and coming out for GDC 2017. If you'll be there, or in the area, give us a shout and we can eat pizza together.

UI Update #1

Its Screenshot Saturday so here is what I've got to show! I've added some button indicators onto the UI so now the player will have a visual guide as to what each mouse button does. This will definitely be helpful once the player starts activating cards which change what the buttons do!

Well, that's all for now my Islanders. Back to the icebox/sweatshop to continue the work.

I'd like to introduce the newest member of the Piko Island Studios family, Lil Red. Let's all give this Akai MPK MINI a warm welcome. I could barely get her out of the box before she went to work producing some catchy little tunes for your ears. Check back to keep up on what she's been up to!
